![]() It’s a series of individual levels, item shops and boss fights. The first of the game’s two modes is the Campaign mode. I never felt like I was dying because the game wasn’t responding the way I wanted it to or anything like that. The controls are really tight, as you would want from a fast-paced arcade game. ![]() There’s only one or two that I don’t particularly like, but for the most part they’re all great fun to play with. There are quite a few different weapons and they’re all well varied and well balanced. Jumping on enemies to kill them is really satisfying (especially if you get an upgrade that makes this do more damage) and the shooting stuff is done well too. You also have an ultimate attack that has more of an AoE effect to it. You can kill enemies in two ways, shooting them or jumping on them. There’s also unlockable palettes to add some visual customization if that takes your fancy. I really liked the art style, character design and sound design. HiOD has a pretty simple core, but it’s incredibly well executed. Essentially HiOD is a wave-based arena game where you shoot and jump on top of enemies to kill them while collecting gems. ![]() Hell is Other Demons is an arena-based arcade game developed by Cuddle Monster Games. ![]() Unforgettable Style - Hell is Other Demons’ bold art style is backed up by a heavy synthwave soundtrack composed by Rémi Gallego, of The Algorithm, and retro sound effects by Magnus Pålsson, composer of the VVVVVV OST.Arcade Mode - Fans of classic, high-score based arcade games will find a cozy home in this mode, with unlimited, procedurally generated action, and infinite replayability. ![]()
